Baby Peyton

My sister Natalie and her husband Jaime welcomed their daughter Peyton into the world June 4, 2011.  Last week I finally was able to drive up to Kentucky to hold my precious neice for the first time.  Ava enjoyed holding her too!  Peyton is such a good baby.  She sleeps well and rarely spits up just like Ava when she was a baby.  I hate that we live so far now.  If I lived closer I could spoil miss Peyton more often!

After a 7 hour drive we are finally holding sweet Peyton!

 Best Buds already!
Natalie calming Peyton down as we try to have a photo shoot.  I brought my camera and made Peyton a tutu.  Natalie also bought a ton of cute head bands and bows to take different pictures.  I will post the finished product once I have edited them.

Shower for Friends

Saturday, my friends Dawn, Christin, Jamie and I threw a shower for our friends Candice and Amanda.  They are both expecting a boy so it was easy to combine the two.  Dawn made the beautiful diaper cakes and decorations and the rest of us helped with food and set up.  It all turned out so cute and everyone had such a great time celebrating with these two beautiful mommies!  Congratulations Candice and Amanda!  We can't wait to meet your new bundles of joy soon!!!!

Look at those cute baby bumps!

They got so many wonderful gifts.

Tea for Two

This past week has been a busy week full of socials, farewell dinners, farewell lunches, Change of Commands and so on.  One night when I came home from a social I found Mark and Ava having a tea party.  Ava had set up her table so beautifully with a table cloth and set out all of the plates and cups.  She even put on a fancy gown and heels.  What a great daddy to play along!

The cupcakes that I brought home from the social went perfectly with the tea!

Father's Day Fun!

To celebrate Fathers Day this year we headed to Columbus Georgia so Mark could race in a mountain bike race.  He was wanting to get some practice in before his SERC series race next week so we thought we would head to Columbus since it is pretty close to where we live.  He had a blast on this course and did pretty well too.  He came in 6th and was pleased with his time too.  Ava and I enjoyed watching all of the riders and taking lots of pictures.  We could have done with out the HOT heat and humidity though!

 Good luck kiss for Daddy

 Getting ready to pass!

 FINISHED!

Ava just had to pose on the podium!

Mommy and Me Pedicure Day

This past Tuesday,  Ava and I met my friend Erin and her little girl Claire for Mommy and Me Pedicures.  Many nail salons now have little girl chairs for our little princesses to get their toes done.  Ava and Claire were so excited!  While the girls were pampered,  Erin and I got pampered too.  What a great little outing with our girls!

 Silly Girls!

Ava wasn't so sure at first as it was her first time.
Claire was all about it!  Look at that smile!!!

Cutest little toes!

All About Art

Although we live in a small town, there are some pretty cool things to do.  Last month I planned a social for the spouses of my husbands students.  Each month we try and plan something different to do to get together.  For my social I chose to meet up at the "All About Art" studio.  They have a mosaics class, canvas painting and ceramics.  We did ceramics and got to choose from a wine glass, plate or coffee mug.  I picked the plate and was pretty pleased on how well it turned out and how well it matched my kitchen.  We all had a lot of fun!  Maybe one day soon I can try one of their other classes.

My walls are painted the red color.  Not too bad for my first time I guess!

Jackson Georgia Race

This past weekend we headed to Jackson Georgia for Mark's mountain bike race.  About 5 minutes from the trails was the Indian Springs Resort.  A Georgia resort since 1825. There were cute little stores and cottages with alot of history.  It is all built around the recently restored Indian Spring Hotel Museum - the original building where the Treaty of 1825 was signed with the Creek Indians deeding most of Georgia and Alabama to the US. Civil War History tells of Sherman's troops camping here.

Ava had so much fun getting in the creek!

 Our cute little cottage
On Sunday we went to Mark's race.  It was so nice being just down the road from the event since we had to be there by 8:00 a.m.  This was the largest turn out for a race that I had seen.  Mark has been having some technical issues almost every race and this was no exception.  About two miles into the race his peddle hit a rock and broke making him unable to clip in.  He had to peddle with his heel for eight miles.
I was so proud of him for sticking it through and finishing and still beating several guys.

Our Little Pre-schooler

Ava's first year of preschool came to and end last Thursday.  She loved her teachers, school and friends.  Her favorite by far was music class!  As the 4 year old graduated to go onto Kindergarten the 2 and 3 year olds joined them on stage to sing to the audience.  You could tell Ava's favorite one to sing was "The Wheels On the Bus".  She was alot less shy then when she sang in the Christmas program a few months ago.  It was sad to see the year close but we look forward to see what next years class brings.
