Jackson Georgia Race

This past weekend we headed to Jackson Georgia for Mark's mountain bike race.  About 5 minutes from the trails was the Indian Springs Resort.  A Georgia resort since 1825. There were cute little stores and cottages with alot of history.  It is all built around the recently restored Indian Spring Hotel Museum - the original building where the Treaty of 1825 was signed with the Creek Indians deeding most of Georgia and Alabama to the US. Civil War History tells of Sherman's troops camping here.

 On Sunday we went to Mark's race.  It was so nice being just down the road from the event since we had to be there by 8:00 a.m.  This was the largest turn out for a race that I had seen.  Mark has been having some technical issues almost every race and this was no exception.  About two miles into the race his peddle hit a rock and broke making him unable to clip in.  He had to peddle with his heel for eight miles.

I was so proud of him for sticking it through and finishing and still beating several guys.
